Care and maintenance of your rug is essential and your rug will last longer and look better with regular vacuuming. With wool rugs it helps to turn the rug especially if it is direct sunlight as this evens out the effect of fading and bleaching of the yarn. Regular hovering stops the dirt accumulating on the surface and thus less is filtered down into the pile where it can cause increased wear. For regular cleaning the use of a suction type Hoover is strongly recommended.

In the case of spillages and stains you need to act fast and blot up spills with a clean cloth or towel. Don’t rub the rug as this can spread the stain. Once you have managed to contain the spill or stain then work from the outside in with a carpet cleaner and a clean cloth. Try not to soak the effected area as this can spread the stain. Once the area is clean dab excess moisture with paper towels and let it dry. When stains become stubborn repeat the process is completed removed. Should stains or spills prove hard to remove then we recommend the use of a professional cleaning company.

This can help protect rugs from wear and tear, protect the floor surface, and also reduce the potential for trip hazards by reducing slippage.
